Mining company delivers royalties to Panamanian municipality
Panama, July 2011
The mining company Petaquilla Gold delivered today 193 thousand 700 dollars to the Municipal Council of the Donoso district in concept of royalties, in the presence of the Minister of Commerce and Industries, Roberto Henriquez.
In this way, mining meets what was established by Panamanian law to deliver the residents where they are settled, a part of the royalties of the production that belongs to the State.
Rodrigo Esquivel, president of Petaquilla Gold, expressed, when delivered the check to Mayor Feliciano Villarreta, the willingness of the company to continue contributing to sustainable development of the communities and to guarantee environmental safety by using first world technologies
Minister Henriquez expressed his pleasure for the successful culmination of a phase for which they had worked so hard over the last few years.
At the ending of the royalties delivery ceremony they walked the streets of the district to the health center Miguel de la Borda to gather suggestions from the neighbors to improve the community services.
